Before Ryan Seacrest, before Dick Clark, there was !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , the big band leader who rang in the New Year from the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City for 48 years in a row. His annual performance of Auld Lang Syne cemented the song in American New Year’s tradition. This top video is from Lombardo’s final performance in 1976-1977. Definitely a sound from an earlier era, but what would you expect from the guy who spends all his time !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ? Happy New Year to all of Oppo and to all the world. Best wishes for a peaceful, happy, healthy and prosperous 2016.

Now that’s classy. Loads better than the garbage they have on now imo.

I agree wholeheartedly. My wife turned on Pit Bull’s special, a New Year’s tribute to misogyny. Now we’re watching One Direction. Huh?

Yeah it’s just sad. On top of that, why show the reruns of the Eastern time stuff for those of us in the central zone? That makes no sense to me.

We were hoping for at least something local. Nope. Pit Bull, on time dealy, was the only thing that counted down for us.

Yep. Same here. We ended up going with Carson though. Oh well. Happy New Year! Time for bed now.
